MPH marks Ryanair’s 30 year anniversary

The rise of low-cost airlines has had a massive impact on how we spend our weekends, where we holiday and even on how and where we buy property – and it was Ryanair who, 30 years ago, was the first to bring us the fares that have sparked these effects. Since we here at MPH have enjoyed more than a few city breaks and weekend jaunts with Ryanair, we were only too delighted to team up with creative agency DARE for the TVC celebrating this 30-year anniversary.

Over the course of two days at Stansted airport, we set out to represent 6 different European markets, asking people from England, Ireland, Spain, Italy, Portugal and Poland to join us for a chat if they had a few minutes to spare. Over 100 participants were only too happy to take part, with their testimonials focusing on Ryanair’s USPs, including the number of destinations on their route-map, mobile boarding passes and the airline’s generous second carry-on bag allowance.Creatively speaking, the VFX approach was to integrate the supers and animation within the space of the live action, working in situ with the movement of the handheld camera. All in all – a lot of fun, absolutely fantastic to work with DARE on a first project and a genuine buzz to work with a brand such as Ryanair, Europe’s largest low-fares airline.
